Meeting Re-Cap
With summer break behind us, the Northland MUFON chapter picked up where they left off in June. This meeting was highlighted by attendees sharing their stories. One thing is for sure, people attend these gatherings because they HAVE seen something they can’t explain, and they are looking for answers. This meeting was very well attended in both Grand Rapids and Fargo!
Kenneth Thompson, an experiencer from northern Minnesota reviewed his book, “Encounter at Hill City”. Kenneth is an engaging story teller, and shared his abduction experience that occurred in 2017. His story includes some familiar abduction components but most notable was that he and his family felt they were gone for months only to discover once they were returned to home that the weather was seasonable and familiar – so atypical for the seasonal changes in Minnesota. What seemed like 6 months was probably only a few hours however, Kenneth noted that his beard had grown out fully….Very strange! His book is available on Amazon.
Other attendees’ experiences included a UFO sighting and a close encounter of the 2nd kind in Itasca County in Minnesota. Another person attending via Zoom told of his continued abduction experiences and subsequent hypnosis sessions to try to define more clearly what is happening during these episodes.
It is important to note that people who come forward with stories in this setting can count on anonymity unless they are okay with their identity being made somewhat public. Northland MUFON does ensure that identities are protected and private information is kept confidential.
Jerred Nelson reviewed several very recent cases that have been reported in Minnesota and the Fargo area in 2024. Most of these cases are still in process, awaiting data from various sources and further investigation by photographic specialists, but there are definitely some strange things flying around in the skies in the northland! Of note, the CMS Database of cases is up and running on the website again, so try to go take a look and review some of these fascinating sightings!
Anna is busily lining up some great speakers/presenters for the coming year so watch our site for frequent updates. September 28th will be a big one – mark your calendars for Erling Strand at 2:00 pm sharp! He is a retired Assistant Professor from Oslo University and will be giving a presentation on the Hessdalen Lights phenomenon in Norway. We hope to see you there!
Real Encounters: When Law Enforcement meets the Unknown.
Join Minnesota MUFON on September 12th as Marianne and Dave give an intriguing talk. The retired AZ police officers Marianne Robb and Dave Rich take center stage to shed light on a fascinating and lesser-known aspect of their profession: investigating Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAP).

Marianne Robb: Marianne is a 34-year veteran law enforcement officer in Arizona. Assigned as patrol officer and a detective in various positions. Marianne is a MUFON (Mutual UFO Network, Phoenix chapter) member and spent 7 years as a field investigator with the organization. Marianne is an instructor at the annual Mufon Field Investigator boot camp sessions held in Arizona and the MUFON Symposium. She teaches MUFON field investigators how to apply methods she learned in law enforcement to their UFO investigations.
Dave Rich is a 25 year veteran law enforcement officer in Arizona. Dave started in patrol, then worked in the investigations unit as a gang detective, homicide and sex crimes detective, and narcotics detective and as a school resource officer unit. Dave joined the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) and worked as a field investigator. He is also an instructor for MUFON’s Field Investigator Boot Camp in Advanced Interview Techniques and Evidence Collection.

Born in 1955 and lives in Norway. Married since 1979 and has two children and four grandchildren. Erling is a Retired Assistant Professor in computer sciences. He is one of five founders of Project Hessdalen. Started in 1983 with the purpose of investigating all sightings of UFOs in the small Hessdalen valley in Norway. He was responsible for the science part in the field works of 1984 and 1985. He is the author of the final technical report from the field work in 1984. He has directed 35 bachelor student groups in the development of the Blue Box research station, between 1994 and 2019. From 2023 the task of developing and running the Blue Box is at Magnus Holm. Erling P. Strand has been one of the leaders in running Science camps for young students in Hessdalen, every year from its start in 2002 until 2019. He has been Project Hessdalen’s’ manager until Fred Pallesen got this position in early 2023. Erling P. Retrievals of the Third Kind
In this detailed and highly illustrated presentation, Michael Schratt will present the most exhaustive examination into the Leonard Stringfield UFO Crash/Retrieval cases. Leonard’s sources included pilots, engineers, medical doctors, pathologists, high level Pentagon officials, U.S. Navy and Air Force personnel. These first-hand sources claimed to have had first-hand knowledge/interaction with alleged Extraterrestrial debris, bodies and recovered craft. New cases to be covered include the crash of a base forward flying triangle in east Germany during 1989, the alleged Jackie Gleason 1973 ET encounter at Homestead AFB, 1953 Kingman UFO forced landing and the 1948 UFO Crash/Retrieval at Aztec New Mexico.
Michaels Bio:
Michael Schratt (private pilot/military aerospace historian) has lectured across the country on the unique subject of “Mystery Aircraft”, and classified propulsion systems buried deep within the military industrial complex. A guest speaker at the “OSHKOSH” AirVenture 2006/2007 event, (world’s largest air show), Michael has developed a number of contacts which have had first hand experience dealing classified “black programs”, including former USAF pilots, retired Naval personnel, and aerospace engineers that have maintained a TOP SECRET SCI (Sensitive Compartmented Information) clearance. In an effort to expose government fraud, waste and abuse, Michael devotes much of his free time researching aerospace technical documents, conducting interviews, and travelling to multiple University archives. As a concerned citizen, it’s his belief that it is our Constitutional obligation to question authority, and demand an accounting of special access programs that bypass congressional oversight and public scrutiny.

William has more than 35 years’ experience designing high security motion detectors and devices for Bosch (Robert Bosch GmbH). The security detectors incorporate many different types of sensors including thermal infrared (IR), 10.5GHz microwave Doppler radar, magnetic hall effect, Ultra-wideband radar, active infrared, temperature, accelerometers. William is listed as inventor on more than 40 patents and was recognized in 2012 as one of Bosch’s top 18 inventors throughout history. William applied his extensive experience with sensors and signal processing algorithms to develop the UAP detector.

Geraldine Sutton Stith was born in the small community of Kelly, Ky. Kelly, which is now known for its 1955 alien encounter, has become a large part of Ms. Stith’s life. The story has been passed down from many family members who were present the night of one of the greatest encounters ever told. Said by many ufologists to be the granddaddy of UFO encounters. Ms. Stith has written two books. “Alien Legacy” and “The Kelly Green Men” which are helping to keep this great story alive. Being the eighth of twelve children on a farm in the community of Trigg County there were always adventures and the night sky to keep you wondering. Moving to Brandenburg, Ky in 2018 along with her husband Chris and many fur babies the tranquility of this small river town is just what was needed to think and create new ideals. Writing a brief manual “Where is Kelly Ky” and a children’s book “A Strange New World” along with many creative handcrafted treasures. She is always keeping her eyes to the sky wondering if there will be a second visit!

Deep Water Alien Residents; The Cover-Up

Seventy percent of the Earth is covered by water, yet as stated by NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association) “We have explored less than 5% of our vast underwater frontier.” Sightings of unidentified aeronautical craft hovering over oceans and seas as well as descending and ascending sometimes at near impossible speeds by our standards, have been documented for centuries. It is time to address the unseen activity of those craft while descended deep below the water surface.
While researching and interviewing witnesses, I discovered that some abductees during hypnotic regression recalled being taken underwater to what they described as underwater bases or cities. Many abductees recall being taken and sometimes being returned. Under regression theory, some recall being submitted to medical exams, are able to describe “strange beings or creatures” and experience missing time. I interviewed multiple abductees, none of which recall the trip to or from where they were taken. I assume this “memory erase” is done as a means of keeping the Earth location, wormhole, or interdimensional access concealed. Diligently, I continued my research and was fortunate to find twelve very documented cases of abductees who describe an ocean and underwater experience.
Debbie Ziegelmeyer BIO
Debbie Ziegelmeyer joined MUFON in 2000 and became a Field Investigator shortly after. She is currently a MUFON Star Team Investigator, Missouri State Director, a member of the MUFON Business Board of Directors, the Functional Director of Underwater Research and Recovery, a member of the MARRS Team, a Benefactor, co-founder of the MUFON Dive Team, a PADI Instructor, and small business owner in Imperial, Missouri.
She has made multiple Podcast, Conference and TV appearances, including as a consultant on two episodes of “Alien Highway”, appeared on two episodes of “Alaska Triangle”, appeared on the 2021 Discovery+ series “Roswell the Final Verdict” and in 2024 on an episode of “Ancient Aliens”. In 2017 she was awarded both the “Roswell Incident Excellence Award” by the Roswell Daily Record, and MUFON “Field Investigator of the Year”. In 2023 Debbie was also awarded the MUFON Chapter of the year award for the state of Missouri. Most recently, Debbie appeared as a guest speaker and panelist at the 2024 MUFON Symposium in Dallas, TX and will be speaking later this month on October 26th and 27th at the Arkansas Paranormal Expo in Little Rock Arkansas.
In 2021 she released her first book “The Alien Colonization of Earth’s Waterways”, and in April 2023, released her second book “The 50th Anniversary of the SE Missouri Ozarks UFO Flap” which she co-authored with Margie Kay. Debbie is currently working on her third book “Deep Water Alien Residents” to be released in early 2025.

Katie Page Bio:
Katie Paige has personal ties to a High Strangeness Ranch in Colorado, now known as the “Rocky Mountain Ranch”. In UFO folklore it was known as the “Clearview” Ranch and pre-dates the infamous “Skinwalker Ranch” by over a decade. This motivated her interest in ufology, to find answers to her experiences, and to uncover the truth about what was happening there.
She is now CEO of Rocky Mountain Ranch Research and is a Co-host on the UAP Studies Podcast hosted By Jason Guillemette, and Dr. Michael Glawson.
Katie can be seen on History Channel’s Beyond Skinwalker, Travel Channel’s UFO Witness, Gaia’s Beyond Belief with George Noory, Small Town Monsters: On the Trail of UFO’s Night Visitors and their new series UFO’s Revisited, as well as Ron James’s film Accidental Truth.
