Mysterious Connections – Could this be real?
By Torre Nelson as told by Bob Schultz
July 20, 2024
In the afternoon of Monday, June 24th, 2024, I received a telephone call from long-time scientist, engineer, and MUFON member, Bob Schultz. He wanted to tell me a story and pose a theory that he has only disclosed to one other person, Jerred Nelson, founder and leader of Minnesota’s Northland MUFON group. Here is his story:
President John F. Kennedy stood before Congress on May 25th, 1961, and proposed that the US “should commit itself to the goal, before the decade is out, of landing a man on the Moon and returning him safely to the Earth.” He assigned this task to the newly created National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). Werner von Braun, a Nazi German scientist captured by the United States at the end of WWII and brought to the United States as part of project Paperclip, was the chief architect of the Saturn V American super heavy-lift launch vehicle developed by NASA under the Apollo program for human exploration of the Moon.
Von Braun was so successful that he became the director of NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama, on July 1, 1960. On the JFK library website in a transcript of an interview of von Braun by Walter D. Sohier and Eugene M. Emme on March 31, 1964, von Braun states that in 1964 the United States did not have a rocket capable of landing a manned craft on the moon and returning successfully. He said that the US would need to increase their rocket performance by a factor of 10. Later in 1964, von Braun changed his mind and, thereafter, led NASA’s moon mission resulting in a moon landing in 1969. What caused von Braun to change his mind so quickly? To explore what might have caused von Braun to change his mind, Bob says we need to visit events in the mid- and late-nineties.
In 1994, Bob attended an International UFO Congress conference in Mesquite, Nevada. At the conference, he heard about an engineer named Bill Uhouse. William “Bill” George Uhouse was born in Carteret, NJ, on April 25, 1925, retired in 2000 and died on May 29, 2009. Bill spent 10 years with the Marines, serving as a fighter pilot, mainly in the late stages of World War II and in Korea, before spending 4 years as a civilian at Wright-Patterson AFB in Ohio working for the Air Force.
At Wright-Patterson he tested experimental aircraft. After his work at Wright-Patterson, he was hired by Air Force contractors developing experimental aircraft and worked another 30 years. Early in his career as a contractor in 1954, Bill was given a top secret program to work on. Remember that the government security has always been very compartmentalized and did, and still does, operate on a strict need-to-know basis. Within Bill’s assigned program, each department was given a specific task and was not told what the overall objective or final product was.
Bill was asked to help design with flight simulators. He worked creating flight simulators for the F-89, the B-47, and the F-102 and eventually on the creation of a simulator for a flying disc. Bill was aware that another team of engineers was working to develop a process for creating a flat smooth circular aluminum skin for the flying disc without using fasteners – no rivets, welding or bolts. The team was told the 10-meter diameter surface needed to be flat without imperfections in order to withstand a 10-million-volt charge of electricity and that it needed to hold that electric charge for very long periods, much like a very large capacitor. The large charge of electricity was needed to give the object anti-gravity properties. Any flaw in the flatness could lead to resistance and faulty performance. The team was told to research the technology that Dow-Corning was using to join small pieces of glass together to create telescope mirrors.
The Dow-Corning pie-shaped pieces were placed together point-to-point (like a pizza) in a perfect vacuum. The perfect vacuum was needed to make sure there were no flaws in the connection. The pieces would then adhere together to become one solid smooth piece. Of course, the team had to apply these principles to much larger pie-shaped sections than Dow-Corning was using. Within 1 year the team had succeeded. By applying pressure and heat to the pieces in a perfect vacuum, the atoms in the aluminum crystalized and bonded together to form a very flat surface without any flaws.
In an interview online in 2000 (https://medium.com/@richgel99/william-bill-g-uhouses-marine-corps-service-verified-53890a291fac), Bill Uhouse claimed that he had been given information about a UFO crash that had occurred near Kingman, Arizona, in 1953. This was the craft that the design of the US flying disks were based on. Bill was told that there were 4 aliens on board that survived the crash and they were taken to Los Alamos. Several scientists and astro-physicists were assigned to work with the aliens but, as Bill heard it, only one alien would cooperate and talk to the scientists…yes, per Bill Uhouse, the alien could speak broken English but preferred to communicate telepathically. A linguist gave the alien the name “J-Rod.”
During development of US flying disks, J-Rod was often consulted regarding problems that the engineers were having. Bill and other engineers had a long period of training before meeting J-Rod. As part of the training, Bill was taught about the differences between all human nationalities and then between other forms of life on earth, mostly animals and other mammals. He and the engineers participated in a lot of psychological testing as well. Once the engineers had completed training, J-Rod would come with Dr. Edward Teller (father of the hydrogen bomb) to help the engineers with problems they had with the design of the US flying disks. J-Rod’s appearance was not that shocking to Bill but several engineers had difficulty accepting his unusual color and mannerisms – J-Rod’s skin was pinkish and grey and was a little rough. Some engineers had difficulty simply accepting the knowledge that there is non-human life in the universe and some could not deal with telepathy. J-Rod had a somewhat difficult time understanding the engineering difficulties, so often the engineers would address the problem on paper. Drawings and photos also helped J-Rod understand. J-Rod’s scientific or engineering advice included correcting the mathematical formulas that the engineers were using.
Eventually the design team completed creation of a flying disk which was first flown in the late 1950’s. The first disk was designed for one occupant and was 10 feet in diameter. It was eventually called the “IRC-10” (Bob believes that “IRC” might stand for “Interplanetary Reconnaissance Craft”). Later the engineers created a larger disk for a crew of 3 men which was 30 feet in diameter. It was called the “IRC-30.”
In 1998, Bob Schultz attended the International Space Development Conference (ISDC) sponsored by the National Space Society (NSS) held in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Per the ISDC webpage https://isdc.nss.org/past-conferences/: “The annual International Space Development Conference is the keynote event of the National Space Society…” It was at this conference where Bob had the chance to talk one-on-one with the second astronaut to ever walk on the moon, Edwin “Buzz” Aldrin.
Buzz was the lunar module pilot for the first moon landing on July 20th, 1969, and with Neil Armstrong took a stroll on the moon. Bob mentioned to Buzz that he found it strange that since the date of the first moon landing, 19 astronauts have walked on the moon but none had ever written a book about their experiences. They hardly ever even talked about their experiences. Buzz told Bob that he and author John Barnes had written a science fiction book called “Encounter with Tiber” in 1996 (first published by Grand Central Publishing on July 1, 1996). Buzz told Bob, “There is a lot of truth in what is not in the book.” Bob thought that was a strange statement.
Bob later bought a copy of Buzz’s book and read it. He found that there were sections of the book which were historical about the US space program and other sections that were science fiction. But there is nothing in the book about a moon landing! Did Buzz Aldrin really walk on the moon? Is it possible that Buzz Aldrin, Commander Neil Armstrong and Command Module Columbia pilot Michael Collins may have only orbited the Moon on July 20th of 1969? Or did they make use of the classified IRC-30 to land on the moon? If so, this would have major implications.
At the same ISDC/NSS conference, Bob listened to a presentation given by Robert Zubrin, a very well-respected scientist known for his research into space exploration, especially the ability to get to Mars. Mr. Zubrin is president of Pioneer Aeronautics, an aerospace R&D company, and an author of over 200 published technical and non-technical papers in the field. A former engineer at Lockheed Martin Astronautics, Mr. Zubrin holds a Ph.D. in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Washington. He has invented several unique and cost-saving concepts for space propulsion. At the end of his presentation on the subject, Mr. Zubrin allowed conference attendees to ask questions. Bob happened to be the first person to approach the microphone and asked the question, “Have you ever considered anti-gravity propulsion?” After a long pause, Mr. Zubrin stated, “Yes I have but I am not privy to text books on that subject.” Bob thinks the scientific community knows about anti-gravity craft but technical information about the subject is not available without the appropriate security clearance.
In 1996, Bob visited the Minnesota National Air Guard Museum at the Minneapolis Airport for an open house. The base had recently acquired a Lockheed A-12 Blackbird spy plane that had been retired and unclassified. The spy plane had been used to fly over Asia (mostly North Korea) reaching speeds over Mach 3 at altitudes of 80,000+ feet. As surveillance aircraft, the A-12 took pictures with a high degree of clarity. Only 22 A-12’s were ever built and 5 have been lost in accidents – none were ever lost by enemy action. Very few museums were able to obtain an A-12 for display and the Minnesota Air Guard Museum was very proud that they had one. The Lockheed A-12 was only capable of carrying 1 man – the pilot. The SR-71 Blackbird (SR stands for “Strategic Reconnaissance”) was very similar to the A-12 in design but could carry 2 men – the pilot and a crew man. The A-12 flew slightly higher and faster than the SR-71.
It was near the A-12 at the Minnesota Air Guard Museum that a gentleman by the name of James Goodall, a nationally recognized authority on the US Navy’s fleet of then modern-day fast attack and ballistic missile submarines and several types of aircraft, including the Lockheed Skunk Works family of Blackbirds, waited at a table. He had authored several military books, some of which lay on his table. Bob purchased a copy of Mr. Goodall’s book titled, “SR-71 Blackbird” (published on January 1, 1995 by Squadron/Signal Publications). Mr. Goodall autographed the book for Bob and made a small note – it said, “Yes Bob, UFO’s are real – both theirs and ours.” Bob then actively engaged Mr. Goodall in conversation about the book and the A-12.
Their discourse was conversant and lasted several minutes, but when Bob asked Mr. Goodall if he had ever piloted an IRC-30, everything changed. From Mr. Goodall’s reaction, Bob could tell he was shocked and his attitude changed very quickly. He immediately responded by saying, “Where did you hear about th….I can neither confirm nor deny what you are asking me. I can neither confirm nor deny what you are asking me. I can neither confirm nor deny what you are asking me.” He then very brusquely ended what had previously been a very pleasant conversation. Does Mr. Goodall’s response actually prove that there was or maybe there still is an IRC-30 in existence and that the USA’s Space Force is much more advanced than the government has disclosed?
Could astronauts have landed on the moon using the IRC-30 and not the Lunar Excursion Module (LEM). The LEM used rocket thrusters to descend slowly to land on the moon. The thrusters gave off so much force that they should have blown moon dust and any other debris away from the landing site but if you look at the pictures of the LEM on the moon, the moon dust and other natural debris remain under the thrusters and there is no divot where dust and debris should have been blown away. Is it possible that the moon landing was staged as the US wanted to beat the Soviets to the moon but didn’t want to disclose the existence of the IRC-30? Could the information provided by Bill Uhouse be corroborated by James Goodall’s reaction to Bob’s question about the IRC-30? Is there really a much more technologically advanced US Space Force as whistleblower, Bill Uhouse, disclosed? This question is so interesting because, if it is true, our space force is much more advanced than we have been led to believe and history is much different than we have been told.
Could the extenuating circumstances as discussed above possibly prove that, in 1964, when confronted with the existence of the IRC-10 or IRC-30, Werner von Braun changed his mind about being able to send a craft to land on the moon and return safely? Is it possible that Buzz Aldrin did not use the Lunar Excursion Module (LEM) to land on the moon but used the IRC-30? Or did the 19 astronauts really go to the moon at all? If they didn’t go to the moon or if they didn’t use the LEM but used the IRC-30 instead, this would mean the landing and later the rendezvous with the orbiter were faked and the world was misled. Can the government keep secrets, like anti-gravity propulsion or a faked moon landing, from the public through compartmentalization and\or top secret clearances as Robert Zubrin stated? Do whistleblowers, like Bill Uhouse, have any credibility? Could there really be extra-terrestrial life that is visiting Earth that can communicate with us? Could James Goodall’s reaction to and refusal to discuss hearing a civilian ask questions about the IRC-30 actually prove the IRC-30’s existence? Do Goodall’s autograph comments in Bob’s SR-71 book truly indicate the existence of non-human life with advanced technology? Any one of these stories can be dismissed as hearsay and nonsense but can all of these circumstances be rejected when considered as a whole?
All of the people mentioned above are highly credible individuals whose integrity is beyond reproach and these questions have immense implications for us. If the information Bill Uhouse disclosed is true and accurate, our world and our universe are very different than we are led to believe. If Buzz Aldrin, as he implied to Bob, didn’t land on the moon in the LEM, then our government loses much credibility and trust. As a 10-year old on July 20th, 1969, I went to my grandparent’s house to watch the moon landing. It was phenomenal and was the most excitement I had ever had before. I was so proud of the United States for such an accomplishment! Am I now to believe it was all just a deception…a fake? A lie? I had never questioned the moon landing before, but now I have a lot of questions. Is our government capable of withholding from its citizens the most important information of our lifetime? I am reminded of the saying, “Where there is smoke, there is fire!” As usual, maybe someday we will actually know the truth.
Note from Northland MUFON: I personally have a hard time believing we faked the moon landing. I have always believed we landed on the moon on July 20, 1969. Although, I must say that Bob Schultz is one of the most credible people I know and someone I hold in high regard. It’s up to you, the reader, whether you wish to believe this story or not. There has always been controversary surrounding the Moon Landing that I never jumped into. I suggest diving deeper into the history of the Moon Landing. But if the Moon landing is being covered-up, the truth may be hard to find… or it may be right in front of us. Deeper into the Rabbit Hole we go…
