Extraterrestrial Visitors

Human experience, which is constantly contradicting theory, is the great test of truth – Samuel Johnson

Summary
People have seen and reported “flying saucers” for over a century. Extraterrestrial Visitors confirms the reality of extraterrestrial vehicles (ETVs) that carry extraterrestrial crews (ETs) and reviews the psychological barriers against accepting this evidence because it threatens humanity’s status in the universe. We are approaching a “tipping point” when the reality of ETVs and ETs will be widely recognized with unpredictable consequences for humanity.
The US Government Told Us About ETs
On November 13, 2024, retired US government officials told the US House of Representatives Subcommittee on National Security, the Border and Foreign Affairs that UFOs – also called Unidentified Aerial Phenomena, or UAP – are extraterrestrial spacecraft. They said that we are under surveillance by intelligent beings from elsewhere in the universe, and that evidence confirming the existence of UAPs has been known to the government for decades (1).
Some of us already knew that. UFO study groups have reported that machines with performance exceeding human aircraft are seen, recorded, and reported in the air, on the ground and in the oceans (2,3). UFO study groups also know something that was not mentioned during the subcommittee hearing: extraterrestrials (ETs) abduct people into their extraterrestrial spacecraft, study us and then return us to earth with no memory of what happened.
Some people still think that ETs are a conspiracy theory created by the self-deluded. Some people who know better cannot talk or write about it. I am a professional student of human vision and memory. I know that human vision and memory, supported by photo, video, radar and sonar evidence, establish the reality of extraterrestrials. I summarize here what we know about extraterrestrials and suggest what we should do about them.
The Beginning
Extraterrestrials came to our attention on June 24,1947. Private pilot Kenneth Arnold was flying across the Cascade Mountains in Washington State when he saw a formation of nine bright objects flying over the mountains. He described what he had seen to people at the airport when he landed, and his sighting was reported in local newspapers and across the country. A newspaper headline described what Arnold saw as “Flying Saucers,” based on his description of how they skipped across the sky (Figure 1).
Figure 1. Kenneth Arnold’s sketch and description of the “Flying Saucers” he saw on June 24, 1947
When I was young I read Sidney Shallet’s What Can You Believe about Flying Saucers, published in the Saturday Evening Post on April 30,1949. Shallet was cautious about flying saucers but knew that the Air Force was interested. He finished his article by writing: “If you’ve really seen something and can prove it, you may scare the wits out of the United States Air Force, but it will be grateful to you.”
One night many years later I left my desk and walked out onto a balcony overlooking the neighborhood. I saw a luminous ball of light moving from north to south. It paused briefly at the high point of its trajectory, and then fell and rose again like a saucer skipping across the water. The “flying saucer” I saw moved like the ones Kenneth Arnold described.
Media coverage of “flying saucers,” “unidentified flying objects” (UFOs) or “unidentified aerial phenomena” (UAP) has been intermittent but continuous from Kenneth Arnold’s 1947 sighting until now. I call them what they really are: extraterrestrial vehicles (ETVs).
We’re not Alone on the Block
Human civilization is like a noisy family: we play loud music and hold all-night parties that attract the attention of our neighbors. We started to attract extraterrestrial attention when we first broadcast electromagnetic signals during the nineteenth century. Now we advertise ourselves to the universe with signals from radios, radars, microwaves, telephones, TVs, and nuclear explosions. Intelligent beings living elsewhere in the universe noticed and came by to have a look.
The Evidence
A commercial airline pilot told me that he had flown wingtip-to-wingtip with an ETV while flying across the American Southwest.
Evelyn and Paul Trent saw a flying saucer hovering over their farm in McMinnville, Oregon on May 11, 1950. Evelyn went outside to feed the rabbits and saw it first. Then Paul came outside and saw a “brightly metallic, silver or aluminum covered” disc “with a touch of bronze” which made no noise and had no exhaust. He thought it might have been a US secret weapon. He got his camera and took two photos before the ETV flew off. He showed the photos to some friends. The local newspaper heard about it and published the photos on June 8, 1950 (Figure 2). Paul Trent’s McMinnville photos were studied by a US government committee established to investigate UFO reports. The committee wrote that:
“This is one of the few UFO reports in which all of the factors investigated, geometric, psychological, and physical, appear to be consistent with the assertion that an extraordinary flying object, silvery, metallic, disc-shaped, tens of meters on diameter, and evidently artifactual, flew within sight of two witnesses (5)”.

Humanity experienced a loud and disastrous war that began when Japan invaded China in 1932, and ended when atomic bombs destroyed Hiroshima and Nagasaki in l945. ETs were listening and came to watch.
Figure 3. Luminous discs (‘Foo-Fighters’) observed during aerial combat in World War 2.
Allied pilots saw lights that followed their aircraft when they flew over Germany and the Balkans. The lights were round and they moved fast. They were described as fiery or glowing red, white, or orange. Some pilots said they looked like Christmas-tree lights. Pilots reported that the lights seemed to toy with their aircraft, making wide turns before simply vanishing. The lights flew in formation with their aircraft, behaving as if they were under intelligent control, but they never displayed hostile behavior. They could not be outmaneuvered or shot down. They were called “foo fighters” (Figure 3). The allied command in Europe issued a press release on December 13, 1944, describing the phenomenon as a “new German weapon”. Stories appeared in the New York Times, the New York Herald Tribune and the British Daily Telegraph. On January 15,1945, Time magazine reported that the “balls of fire” had been following USAAF night fighters for more than a month. Descriptions of the phenomena varied but pilots agreed that the mysterious lights followed their aircraft closely and at high speed.
“Balls of fire” were also reported from the Pacific Theater of Operations. The Pacific “ball of fire” resembled a large burning sphere that “just hung in the sky” and sometimes followed aircraft. As in Europe, aircraft were never attacked by a Pacific “ball of fire”.

The CIA Denies the Evidence
ETVs appeared over Washington, DC in 1952. They were seen, tracked on radar, and chased by jet fighters that could not intercept them (Figure 4). The CIA organized a panel of scientists to study them. The scientists wrote “..the evidence presented on Unidentified Flying Objects shows no indication that these phenomena indicate a need for the revision of current scientific concepts… and that paying attention to them will lead to “the cultivation of a morbid national personality..”(6).
ETVs follow the US Navy
In 2004 the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz was cruising in the Pacific Ocean near the California coast. Radar receivers on the nearby cruiser USS Princeton recorded multiple unknown targets near the carrier. An F-18 from the Nimitz piloted by Lieutenant-Commander David Fravor was launched to investigate. Radars recorded the targets moving from an altitude of 80,000 feet to 20,000 feet in seconds. The sensors in Fravor’s F-18 locked onto one of the targets and he started to follow it. The target sped to a point 40 miles away at three times the speed of sound. Fravor said “It had no plumes, wings or rotors and out-ran our F-18s. I want to fly one.” (7) In 2014 the aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt was cruising off the coast of Florida. F18s piloted by Ryan Graves and Danny Accoin were airborne from the Theodore Roosevelt when they saw objects that looked “like a spinning top moving against the wind.” The objects accelerated, slowed, and then moved at hypersonic speed. Another pilot was recorded saying “Wow, what is that, man? Look at it fly”(8).

ETVs are observed visually and recorded simultaneously on sensors that confirm the visual observations.
ETs Interfere with Us
Our interactions with other animals are usually friendly and well-intentioned. We walk our dogs to the dog park and we feed our cats when they are hungry. We take care of animals who are useful to us. Cows give us milk; horses give us mobility. We co-exist with other animals: squirrels nest in our trees; birds live in our birdhouses. But we also kill and eat animals and some of us kill animals for pleasure.
ETs do not treat us as equals: they control us and then study us. Here are two examples.
Barney and Betty Hill
Barney and Betty Hill lived in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. In 1961 they took a short vacation to Canada, driving from Niagara Falls to Toronto and then back along the St. Lawrence River to Montreal. Then they drove south to the Vermont border and east to New Hampshire. While driving through New Hampshire after dark they were followed by a disc in the sky, 60 to 80 feet in diameter, with a row of brightly lit windows. It hovered over a nearby field (Figure 6) when Barney stopped the car and started to walk towards it. Betty screamed at him to get back in the car. He got back in and they drove home but arrived in Portsmouth hours later than expected. Barney remembered later that after their first sighting they saw humanlike creatures along the road who signalled him to stop the car by swinging their arms like pendulums.
Barney suffered from hypertension and ulcers and his physician thought that his illnesses might have been aggravated by the anxiety-producing travel experience that he only partly remembered. The physician suggested that Barney consult a hypnotherapist who could help him to reduce his anxiety by retrieving his repressed travel memories. Barney and Betty were hypnotized separately in 1963 by Dr. Benjamin Simon, a specialist who treated post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Dr. Simon’s hypnosis sessions retrieved consistent memories from both Barney and Betty about their abduction into the ETV, their examinations by ETs, and their subsequent release (9).
Figure 6. UFO recalled by Barney Hill following his abduction with Betty Hill in September 1961
Linda Cortile
Linda Cortile (a pseudonym) was abducted by ETs from her New York City apartment in the middle of the night on November 30, 1989. An ETV hovered over her apartment building, ETs levitated from the ETV through her bedroom window and then levitated Linda out through the closed window and into the ETV while her husband slept through the abduction.
Figure 7. ETs abducting Linda Cortile from her Manhattan apartment as seen by a witness in a car immobilized on the nearby Brooklyn Bridge
Cars on the nearby Brooklyn Bridge were immobilized while the ETV hovered near Linda’s apartment. One of the immobilized drivers sketched what she saw (Figure 7) and sent her drawing to Budd Hopkins (1931 – 2011) who was an abstract expressionist painter known for his art and for his interest in ETs. The abduction was also seen by two US Secret Service agents and the prominent political figure who they were driving along Manhattan’s FDR drive at the time of the abduction. The FDR drive passes under the Brooklyn Bridge and their Secret Service car was immobilized during the abduction. The full story was told by Budd Hopkins in Witnessed (10).
Sometimes the Truth is Hard to Accept
Samuel Johnson, the eighteenth-century English man of letters, said “Human experience, which is constantly contradicting theory, is the great test of truth”(11). Thomas Kuhn, a twentieth-century American philosopher of science, disagreed. Kuhn wrote that “There is no such thing as research in the absence of any paradigm [theory]. To reject one paradigm without simultaneously substituting another is to reject science itself ” (12).
Samuel Johnson was right and Thomas Kuhn was wrong. People have been seeing and reporting “flying saucers” (ETVs) and extraterrestrial visitors (ETs) for over a century. This report includes a representative sample of the many times when people have observed or interacted with ETVs and ETs visiting earth.
There is no “paradigm” that explains how ETVs travel through space or how ETs communicate telepathically. Skeptics argue that ETV and ET observations are caused by erroneous vision, erroneous memory, or erroneous instruments. Thomas Kuhn would argue that even expressing an interest in the ETV and ET evidence, without providing a scientific theory to explain it, is a rejection of science itself. All of these arguments are wrong. Samuel Johnson said that “human experience…is the great test of truth” and he was right. This article reports some of the many human experiences, reported by many people over many years, which establish the reality of ETVs and ETs. Some of the people who report these experiences have been psychologically tested, and they score in the normal range on standard personality tests (14).
Psychologist Leon Festinger explained in A Theory of Cognitive Dissonance (14) how people reduce the anxiety produced by unwelcome facts by creating an alternative reality that excludes the unwelcome facts. The unwelcome facts are that extraterrestrials visit earth, control us telepathically and abduct us. The alternative reality is that the radar evidence, the photographic evidence, the eyewitness evidence, and the abduction reports are fictional narratives created by people who are psychologically disturbed or who seek attention and profit for themselves. Susan Clancy endorsed the alternative reality in Abducted: How People Come to Believe They Were Kidnapped by Aliens (15).
The US government promotes another alternative reality. The website of the US Department of Defense’s All Domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO) asks: “Has the Department found any evidence of extraterrestrial technology?” Their answer is: “No. Examination of UAP sightings is ongoing. AARO uses a rigorous scientific framework and data-driven approach to better understand UAP. We will follow the science wherever it leads”(16). American military and aviation sensors have been recording ETVs since they started appearing the skies (Figure 5), and the AARO answer is an official lie.
Can we Protect Ourselves against ETs?
ETs are technologically more advanced than humans: they have mastered space travel and telepathy. We are beginners who have taken small steps towards mastery of space and telepathy. We have modest competence at skills ETs have fully mastered.
We may be able to control our interactions with ETs. Animal behavior can be modified by transmitting microwaves directly to the brain (US Patent 4,858,612). Based on the assumption that ET telepathy is produced by microwave transmission to the brain, inventor Michael Menkin filled hats with microwave-blocking polyester insulation. Menkin reported that his insulating hats prevented people who had experienced multiple abductions from being re-abducted so long as they kept on wearing the hats (19).
The Tipping Point
Extraterrestrials have been visiting earth for at least 80 years. They abduct us, study us, and return us to earth, and we do not know how to stop them. We have shared earth with other animals for millennia; now extraterrestrials share earth with us. We are approaching what Malcom Gladwell called The Tipping Point: “sometimes big changes follow from small events …. sometimes these changes can happen very quickly.”(17) The big changes will happen when we finally acknowledge that extraterrestrials observe and interfere with us. The small events will be more widely reported UFO sightings and/or abductions. Then we will have to accept our new reality and decide what to what to do about it.(18)
