“Very close observation of craft, slowly at tree top level” In 1969 a witness saw an object up close and personal.
Back in 1969 this witness saw something extraordinary while out with his friend one evening. This is the witnesses story:
I imagine most of us have regrets of different magnitude; a path not taken, education, work, a lost love… This is a true story which happens to be of a UFO sighting and one of, if not my biggest regrets. Early spring, April of 1969. I’m driving south on a country road outside of a rural town in Minnesota, towards a country club with my good friends “Bob” in the middle of the front seat and “Charley” riding shotgun (cars at that time had this thing called a “bench” seat which allowed three adults to sit comfortably in the front. What a concept.). Bob was home on leave from Viet Nam/Army and we were going to walk around the golf course at night ‘cause that was something to do. I should mention that although it was the late ‘60s and we were all around 21 years old, that we had not ingested anything to that point which would have affected our perceptions, not even a beer. It was a clear, dark, moonless night, probably around 8 or 9 PM. We were about 500 feet from the corner to turn left when Bob leaned forward while looking up out of the windshield and said “huh?” followed by a louder “whaaat?”. I looked up and immediately slammed on the brakes and jumped out of the car. My initial glance showed a large diameter green light that was just ahead and above the car. When I jumped out, the light continued moving slowly ahead. It is impossible to accurately estimate sizes with no reference points but the light seemed to be about 5’ in diameter and about 30’ to 40’ in the air. It seems that there were other lights around the object but since they were not pointed at us they didn’t really register. What was unique about the light, and something that I have never heard or read of, was that the light didn’t shine out like a beacon or spotlight but instead it was like looking up a green smoke filled tube, it had depth but no spot that was brighter than another, very uniform.
The night was so dark that we couldn’t make out a shape of the “craft”. It continued slowly moving ahead over the road. Seemed to take thirty seconds to a minute to get to the corner ahead and then took the ninety degree left turn but the light stayed pointed north! The craft altered course without turning. It slowly moved east, still over the road for about 100 feet and then stopped for about a minute. It then continued in the same direction for another 100 yards or so and took another ninety degree turn to the left, also without turning. It was now paralleling the road, coming back north, at about tree top level. As it got close to even with us it started to rise higher. As it did, and this is also something that I haven’t heard or read of, waves of distortion started to emanate from the craft, completely surrounding it: even though it was dark I could see the “energy waves” build which were transparent but had a green edge to the waves, if that makes sense… then all of a sudden it took off at an incredible speed, arcing up and away, a bright point of light which rose up and disappeared in less time than it takes to read this. I got back in the car and started driving as we tried to start to talk about what we just saw. Before we got to the corner one of the guys said that they wondered why it had stopped over the road we were about to turn on, I said “maybe they dropped someone off”… We turned the corner and there, illuminated by the headlights, was a woman walking towards the Country Club. Our jaws dropped to our chests, we didn’t say a word as we slowly drove past her. She appeared to be in her 40’s to 50’s, stocky, and was dressed in a navy skirt with jacket and dress shoes. She was carrying shopping bags. In any other situation I would have presumed that she had been shopping in the “cities” and had taken the bus back to town and then was walking home. The problem with that is that we were 2 miles from town with half of the distance on gravel roads; it just didn’t seem to fit. We turned into the club/golf course. If she continued walking straight ahead, there was (and is) a housing development along the a river that she must have been going to. The “big regret” is, of course, that we didn’t stop. We either would have had a solid citizen to corroborate our story or maybe have been offered a ride! Guess we’ll never know. None of us have told the story other than to friends on occasion, I imagine. This is the first “report” of this incident
The Field Investigator’s summary and conclusion to this report is as follows:
Before calling The Witness, I checked the MUFON and NUFOC websites to see if I could find a similar incident in the area around that time frame, there was nothing. Considering this happened 50 years ago (1969) I asked what his motivation was to report it now. He mentioned that he had told the stories a few times over the years and at his granddaughters’ suggestion he decided it might be time to go ahead and report it. In his words, “I just thought it might be important”. The witness is the owner of a business and seems to me to be a level headed person. While telling me his story and walking me around during the site visit, I came to believe that the witness does believe everything he told me and everything that he reported in the CMS. Although this was 50 years ago, the witness has a very good memory of this event. As reported, this happened in the spring of 1969, the exact day is not known. It was dark, sunset in early April in this part of Mn is about 1845.The witness states that it was “dark” and says it was around 2100. Considering a sunset of 1845 with another 52 minutes worth of sunlight from Civil Nautical Twilight ending at 1937. Another 1.5 hours (or roughly 2100) the sky would indeed be dark by then. The witness states the weather was clear and this was a rural area at the time therefore it very well could have been a very dark place. Since then, the area has grown significantly both with tree’s and urban sprawl. The witness states there were three of them in the front of seat of their car, the car was a 1955 Chevrolet. Three 21-year old men could easily fit in the front seat of that car. The witness did state that although they were young and it was the 60’s they were 100% sober and had not partaken in any alcohol nor drugs prior to the event. I asked a few questions… The car did not act strange in the presence of the craft, he does not remember if he turned the car off or not, although he did get out while the other two witnesses stayed in the car. He does not remember anything out of the ordinary as far as feelings, hearing, tastes, or touch. His only thoughts at the time were, “Totally strange”, “is this really happening?”, “I have got to pay attention”. I asked about the light, whether it was emanating from the craft or if it was the craft? He could not specifically recall. His initial assessment of being about 500 feet from the intersection was proven to be accurate. The site visit showed it to be approx. 500 feet. The person they saw after turning down the road was only 100 yards or so. It Is very possible, being focused on the craft/light that they could have missed this person walking along, or it is possible that this person was from the craft or being returned from the craft. When asked if there any missing time (When you pulled into the Golf Course did it seem later then you thought it should?) the answer was no. The site visit confirmed the recalled distances. The second in-person interview seemed to confirm that The witness was sincere in his report and completely believes his story as recounted.
In reference to the energy field, I spoke with Mr. Jim Penniston (from the Rendlesham Forest incident in 1980) on May 10th 2019, and he had mentioned that he witnessed the same phenomenon during his encounter. From what I understand this phenomenon happens quite frequently. Carl Feindt, in his book, “UFO’s and Water” shows many examples of this energy field and its possible effects/uses. He postulates that there may be two separate forms of fields interacting or working congruently together. The field that The wintess saw may have been, for lack of a better word, a “Force Field” used in flight to deflect micro meteoroids or other debris while traveling. The other half, or second field, may be used in propulsion? As I close out this report, I have not finished Mr. Feindt’s book. I did speak to a University Professor, (as recommended by Mr. Penniston) in reference to the energy fields, The Professor had mentioned the same thing about these fields. The Professor was actually going to write a paper on the subject. However, when Carl Feindt’s book came out, he abandoned that idea since Mr. Feindt’s information was basically what The Professor had intended on writing about. The Professors conclusion is that there are two distinct propulsion systems that work in tandem as a “mass cancellation” in order for the craft to move as fast as they do. It is also possible that the energy field that The witness saw may have been one of these fields or both of these fields interacting together. With our known technology, and my education, I am not certain at this time as to what the purpose of the energy field that the witness saw? But it must have been important enough to “turn on” prior to the craft departing.
